In 1997 the founder of The Rani In 1997, Al Hajj Abul Bashar, the visionary founder of The Rani Re-Rolling Mills (RRM), established Bangladesh’s first integrated re-rolling plant in Shyampur Kadamtali, Dhaka. Specializing in structural sections like Angles and Z-bars, the plant quickly earned customer trust and a strong market position.
Following a challenging period in 2003, when the founder’s health declined, his elder son, Dr. Sumon Chowdhury, took leadership, expanding the company with a corporate structure. He introduced two new business wings: The Rani Concast Steel Mills Ltd in 2005 and Wafeeqa Real Estate Limited in 2011.
Recognizing the need for technological advancement, Mr. Chowdhury modernized steel manufacturing in Bangladesh with an environmentally friendly plant capable of producing high-precision steel products. RRM STEEL has consistently invested in modernization, adhering to international standards. Today, with over 1,000 dedicated employees, the company continues its journey of excellence and innovation.
